Cell phones out of school - for more togetherness, concentration and health

I welcome the fact that Saarland is recommending a ban on cell phones in elementary school - that is the right step. But now we need binding regulations, not just recommendations. And: private cell phone use should also be restricted at secondary schools - with pedagogically sensible exceptions.

Hesse is setting a good example here: the ban on cell phones is to be enshrined in law there from the coming school year. Other federal states should follow suit.

Studies clearly show that mobile phone-free schools promote children's concentration, social behavior and well-being.
At the same time, we need to teach children and young people media skills - in an age-appropriate, critical and practical way.
Digital education yes - but in the classroom, not by constantly scrolling in the schoolyard.
