26 March Successful event at the European Parliament: Charting the Path to Sustainable Economic Development
Thank you to everyone who attended today's event "Charting the Path to Sustainable Economic Development", which I organized together with my colleague Sirpa Pietikäinen and GLOBE EU.
It was a unique opportunity to discuss with leading representatives from business, science and politics how sustainable prosperity can be shaped in harmony with planetary boundaries.
My special thanks go to our keynote speaker Prof. Tim Jackson from the University of Surrey, who provided important food for thought with his visionary outlook on prosperity beyond growth and resource consumption - as well as to all panelists, moderators and the GLOBE EU team for their excellent cooperation.
Another special contribution came from Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Honorary President and Ambassador of the Club of Rome - an organization that has played a central role for decades in introducing systemic thinking, ecological limits and long-term responsibility into economic policy debates.
The intensive and productive exchange showed once again how urgent a new economic way of thinking is - and how much potential lies in dialog across industry and political boundaries. We look forward to the next steps and continuing the dialog!
