YES to fewer pesticides and more nature conservation!

VP leader Manfred Weber wants to commit the European People's Party (EPP) to rejecting the pesticide regulation being discussed in the European Parliament at its party conference in Munich today. Among other things, the regulation aims to halve the use of pesticides in European agriculture by 2030.

"The fact that Markus Söder is taking part in this event without apologizing to all participants in the 'Save the Bees' round table reveals a maximum degree of political impudence," says ÖDP state chairwoman Agnes Becker, oedpbayern, the initiator of the biodiversity referendum. In 2019, for fear of another political defeat in a biodiversity referendum, Söder even declared the goal of halving the use of pesticides in Bavaria by 2028.

Manuela Ripa, MEP of the ÖDP, sharply criticizes the EPP course: "Only fewer pesticides will lead to more food security, because this will give us resilient food production without species extinction."
