07 Nov. Letter from the animal welfare group

On the occasion of the hearing of the Commissioner-designate for Health and Animal Welfare, the European Parliament's Animal Welfare Group, together with the animal welfare organizations GAIA and Eurogroup for Animals, organized an exhibition. 

In this context, we also defined the Commissioner's tasks in the area of animal welfare more precisely in the form of a letter to Commission President Von der Leyen, which I was delighted to sign. 

The letter lists many important priorities and long overdue measures that need to be addressed by the new Commission, but which are unfortunately missing from the present job description. 

As an animal welfare group, we will be following this closely.
