Nice to have you here! My name is Manuela Ripa and I have been fighting for an ecological and sustainable Europe in Brussels since 2020.As an EU politician and representative of the Ecological Democratic Party, I am committed to environmental and climate protection as well as animal welfare and consumer protection. As a mother of two children, the future of our next generations is particularly important to me.

My values and positions:
Against factory farming
I am committed to better husbandry conditions and greater animal welfare and am fighting for an immediate end to all forms of animal suffering and industrial factory farming.
Species protection
Protecting diversity and saving species: Many animal species in Germany, Europe and the oceans are threatened with extinction. I am committed to a sustainable European policy and have initiated the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) "Save the Bees". It has merged with the ECI "Save bees and farmers".
Climate protection
Millions of people, especially young people, are taking to the streets around the world to fight for climate protection. I, too, am committed to a more ecological future and my positions strengthen the interests of our and future generations.
Consumer protection
As a new mother, I immediately put away baby products labeled "according to EU regulation" because I knew that these limits could not be strict enough.
In my opinion, all consumers must be able to recognize what they are buying!
Petitions and
Citizens' petitions
One of the ÖDP's most important tools is petitions and our proximity to citizens' initiatives. We have already initiated several successful citizens' petitions and, as a relatively small party, have been able to exert direct influence on the governing coalitions.
For example, with the support of almost 1.8 million citizens,my party was able to oblige theBavarian state government to do more to protect species.
Against factory farming and for an EU-wide quality seal!
Can you still keep up with all the seals, scales and traffic lights on food packaging?
I am campaigning for an EU-wide quality seal and would like to see pictures of farming conditions on packaging.
More than 111,677 petition participants think exactly the same and support the ÖDP.
Stop the greenwashing of natural gas and nuclear power in the EU taxonomy!
The EU Commission has been working for months on the so-called EU taxonomy, a new EU standard for sustainable investments. This standard will define which economic activities are considered sustainable. The taxonomy will be used to identify sustainable investment products and set further standards in the financial sector, e.g. the EU standard for green bonds. In addition, all large companies will have to disclose the extent to which they meet the requirements of the taxonomy.
