On International Women's Day 2024, we celebrate the tireless strength, courage and achievements of women worldwide!

 

The German Trade Union Confederation writes in its appeal for International Women's Day: "Rights that have been fought for must be defended again and again. Today it is more important than ever to protect our fundamental European values. Women's rights are human rights. Real equality only exists in a social and just Europe." I agree with that! There must be equality in all areas.

 

Above all, we urgently need fair pay! Women must also be able to make self-determined decisions about their professional and family lives. This would be helped by a childcare or nursing salary subject to social insurance contributions, as we in the ÖDP are calling for. So far, this socially valuable work has not been remunerated.
