11 March International Women's Day ceremony at the European Parliament
A moving ceremony took place in the European Parliament last weekend to mark International Women's Day. The speeches by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, who spoke about their courageous fight against the dictatorship in Belarus, were particularly impressive. Equally moving were the words of Leniie Umerova and Tata Kepler, who spoke about the desolate situation in Ukraine after the Russian war of aggression and described the struggle for democracy.
After the ceremony, I met with the other members of the Women's Committee, the guests and Parliament President Metsola.
