Meeting with the German Academic Exchange Service

Last week, I spoke with Dr. Stephan Geifes (Director of the National Agency for Erasmus+) and Tanja Kreetz (Deputy Director DAAD Brussels) about current developments and the future of Erasmus+. 🌍💡

Especially in the DAAD's 100th anniversary year, it became clear that international exchange must remain a reliable pillar in these challenging times for foreign policy. Erasmus+ enables young people to experience Europe - not only at schools and universities, but also in education, youth work and sport. I myself have gained valuable experience with the Erasmus exchange program and in times of increasing Euroscepticism, this program is more important than ever.

The European University Alliances also play a central role. 65 alliances with over 570 universities are shaping the European higher education of the future. Strengthening their cooperation will be crucial in the coming years. As shadow rapporteur, I will soon be addressing the new vision for the European Universities Alliances in the Committee on Culture. An important topic on which I will be reporting more in the coming weeks! 🎓
