12 Dec. Solidarity with small and medium-sized enterprises
How are SMEs doing in the Greater Region and in Europe?
I spoke about this yesterday with other MEPs from the Greater Region at the event "Transformation in the skilled crafts sector in the Greater Region: SMEs need clear signals from EU policy!". The discussion was organized by the Interregional Council of the Chambers of Crafts of the Greater Region at the Representation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
One thing is clear: our small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of our economy. They create jobs, drive innovation and ensure regional diversity. But they must not be crushed by bureaucracy!
That is why we urgently need an EU SME representative as one of the answers to reducing reporting obligations in line with social and environmental aspects.
It is essential that SMEs are at the table in an advisory capacity! This is the only way we can jointly develop solutions that relieve the burden on SMEs and promote innovation!
