An eventful and challenging year comes to an end. But looking back, it is clear that our commitment to the protection of species, animals, consumers, the environment and democracy has paid off in 2023!

🧴As chief negotiator for detergents and cleaning products, I am committed to healthier, more environmentally friendly and more sustainable products that do not require animal testing.

🐇Animal welfare is a cross-cutting issue. As Vice-President of the Intergroup for Animal Welfare, I have once again campaigned for animal welfare to become the focus of European legislation in 2023.

🌿In the area of nature conservation, I am currently negotiating the Soil Act that the Commission presented this year on behalf of my group. It is about keeping our soils healthy and stopping land sealing.

👷As an MEP from Saarland, I have campaigned for funding for the production of climate-friendly steel in Saarland. The transformation is good news for Saarland, Germany and the EU as an industrial location of the future!

🍯Consumer protection is a matter close to my heart. I am currently helping to negotiate laws that introduce mandatory origin labeling for honey and jams and do not allow misleading labels on our food products.

🍯I fight against carcinogenic substances in our everyday products in the Special Committee on Combating Cancer

🇪🇺Ein important success for democracy: together with my colleagues, we managed to prevent the percentage hurdle in the next European elections - and thus saved millions of votes!

With these and other achievements behind me, I look forward to continuing to give my all with you in the coming year for all the issues that are close to our hearts.
