Manuela Ripa elected to the federal board of the ÖDP

Günther Brendle-Behnisch from Ansbach is the new Federal Chairman of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP). This was decided by the ÖDP at its 63rd federal party conference in Gersfeld/Rhön (Hesse) at the weekend as part of the election of a new federal executive committee.

Manuela Ripa, Member of the European Parliament for the ÖDP, is now also a member of the Federal Executive Committee. "In order to better coordinate our involvement in the European Parliament with the political work of our party, it is best to be directly involved in this most important body ourselves," said the parliamentarian. In her introductory speech, she emphasized the focus on nature conservation and biodiversity as well as species, animal and climate protection. She also focuses on educational issues and the health and well-being of children and young people in particular. Mental health in relation to the use of social media plays a particularly important role: "The potential uses of social media have enormous addictive potential. Artificial intelligence increases this potential. We need an AI driving license for schoolchildren to prevent long-term damage at an early stage," says Manuela Ripa.

The constituent meeting for the new Federal Executive Board is scheduled for mid-November so that it can start work immediately.
