13 Feb. Today in the EU Parliament: Mercosur agreement under fire
Today, the European Parliament held a debate on the free trade agreement between the EU and the Mercosur countries - an agreement at the expense of the environment, agriculture and social standards. It promotes trade in beef, pesticides and cars, while rainforest destruction, loss of biodiversity and unfair competition for European farmers are accepted.
The importance of sustainable agriculture that operates within planetary growth limits is essential. This must also include fair prices for farmers and greater protection against unfair competition from third countries that do not respect our environmental and animal welfare standards.
That is why this agreement must not be ratified! 🌍✊
