That is why we in the European Parliament are calling on the European Commission and the Council to award prizes to such cities every year! This would support the efforts of cities that promote the rights and well-being of children in the long term.

 

This initiative should be based on the successful European Capital of Culture concept and focus on children and their rights and opportunities for democratic participation. Cities vying for the title must present innovative concepts for children that focus on equal opportunities, healthy growth, quality education and a clean environment.

This initiative protects children's rights and promotes social integration. In this way, we can contribute to a better future for our children in Europe.
