Bye, Bye X!
Over the next three months, I will be gradually withdrawing from X and shifting my communication to Bluesky and Mastodon.
X has increasingly developed into a political instrument of power for the richest man in the world. Decisions about algorithms and content no longer seem to serve the promotion of democratic discourse, but rather personal interests and economic control. At the same time, disinformation, hate speech and agitation are repeatedly tolerated - sometimes even encouraged.
It is clear to me that I do not want to support a platform that undermines democratic values and jeopardizes public discourse. That's why I think it's important to use alternatives, preferably "Made in Europe", that are based on respect, transparency and democratic principles.
Other politicians and EU Commissioners should follow this example and support European platforms. It is time to set an example and break new ground in political communication.
