Exchange with Latin American academics and non-governmental organizations on the EU-Mercosur free trade agreement

How would the EU-Mercosur free trade agreement affect indigenous peoples and small farms in Latin America? I discussed this with Latin American scientists and non-governmental organizations.
We agreed that the current agreement cannot be reconciled with either European climate protection targets or the plans of Brazil's new government led by President Lula to end deforestation by 2030.

One thing is clear: we must stop the EU-Mercosur free trade agreement!

Without a renegotiation, the current EU-Mercosur deal will be fatal for local communities and ecosystems such as the rainforest and drinking water.
We stand firmly by the indigenous peoples! Save the Amazon!
